We couldn’t have asked for a better experience than we had with Vines Midwifery. Everyone on my birth team took great care of me and made my birth such a wonderful experience.

JENNIFER VINES Certified Professional Midwife, Founder of Vines Midwifery

I love being a midwife. I love my job and truly enjoy this work. I began the journey into midwifery with the simple desire of assisting families to have normal, family centered birth experiences that were empowering. That single, simple thought has brought me into the lives of many wonderful families. I have had the privilege to witness amazing and strong people become mothers, fathers and parents and couples become families.

After years of providing care throughout the childbearing cycle as a doula, through midwifery and nursing training, at home births and hospital births and even once an elevator birth…

In 2013, I embarked on a new journey and Vines Midwifery was born.I have had the pleasure of serving some of the most wonderful families in Nashville and the surrounding area. Each of the births I attend is a true honor. I am thankful to each and every family that allows me to share this life changing event with them.

On a personal note - I am the mother of two grown children and grandmother to three grandsons. I live in East Nashville. When not attending births, I enjoy vegetable and flower gardening, backyard chicken raising, herbalism and attempting to train my dogs Betty and Charlotte. I am also interested in the international midwifery community and volunteer with several global organizations to provide midwifery care to refugees internationally.

Lindsey Nelson Office Assistant, Birth Assistant and Midwifery Student

My name is Lindsey Nelson. I am happily married and a mother to 3 beautiful children, one girl and two boys. We also have 3 dogs (Ebony, Brutus, and Lola!) For the last 8 years, I have been employed as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician.

I’ve always known that I belonged in healthcare, but for a long time, I didn’t know in what capacity. From a young age, I had an “obsession” with pregnant women. I always wanted to know every detail about their journey, even if I was too shy to ask anyone. My obsession became passion between the birth of our first child and conception of our second. I knew, without a doubt, after I had our first child that I never wanted to go through the process of induction again. When I began to research and learn how many different ways a person could birth, it blew my mind, and my whole world was clear. I could finally see my path in life. With that being said, I made it my goal to help as many women as possible.Ultimately, I wish to obtain my Certified Professional Midwifery license, and assist women in home birth.

Fun Fact: I’ve played rugby for 11 years, minus the times where I was growing a human.

AUBREY MCMILLAN Certified Doula

"I have a strong passion for helping families feel confident and supported through their pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood journey. This stemmed from my own pregnancy and birth experience. I took a childbirth education class during my first pregnancy and not only was I so excited for my upcoming birth, but I also wanted to help others through their births too!

Now as a doula, I work closely with my clients to discover their unique needs and desires. It is my goal to ensure that they feel informed and listened to each step of the way. I provide my clients with evidence-based information in an unbiased and non-judgemental manner.

I am a certified doula, childbirth educator, placenta specialist, and reiki practitioner. I have been a doula since 2017 and have supported families through home, birth center and hospital births, medicated and unmedicated births, as well as twin, induction, and VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) births. Before doula work, my background is rich with caring for children of all ages and in a variety of childcare settings spanning back 15 years.

I live just west of Nashville with my husband and two sweet little girls. I am a HBAC (homebirth after a cesarean), loss, and rainbow mother. In my personal life, I enjoy spending time outside hiking, swimming, and playing in the dirt. I tend to follow a more holistic lifestyle with food and household products, but I have been known to make the occasional stop at taco bell.

I am honored to be invited into such intimate moments and to be a part of my clients care team."
